A former luxury hotel chain executive and his event planner wife are opening a concept winery in Albemarle County. Dean Andrews and Lynn Easton are putting the finishing touches on Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyard off Plank Road.
Pippin Hill is designed as a place for visitors to have a vineyard-to-table experience with their 14 wines paired with foods. The facility also includes an event space for custom-made weddings with up to 200 guests.
"We're going to be using some of the products directly out of the harvesting and directly out of our own kitchen garden to produce our own food here in the tasting room and in our events," said Andrews.
"The fact that we got to put the vines in the ground and build to the specifics of our event side at the same time was really a pretty unique opportunity for us," Easton explained.
The Pippin Hill Tasting Room opens to the public Friday.
