Habitat Volunteers Repaint Mural at Hope Community Center

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers have been breaking out the paint brushes Wednesday at the Hope Community Center.  About 10 people with Habitat for Humanity International spent the day repainting a mural on several sidewalks at Hope.

It's part of the "Learn and Build Experience." The volunteers are in town for two weeks and decided to help the community center since they had some downtime.

Hope Community Center Director Sharon Mason said, "It's a wonderful feeling to know that people actually know who we are and are able to reach out to us and help us out and it make a connection between us and the community and this is not only a community connection but an international connection."

A second team of volunteers helped Wednesday afternoon on the mural. The team from Habitat goes home on Saturday.
