Ed Sykes is NBC29's State Capitol reporter, covering state politics from the General Assembly building in Richmond.

Ed joined the NBC29 news team in May, 2011. A Charlotte, NC, native, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in journalism and political science in 2011. He's proud to call himself a born and bred Tar Heel!

Previously, Ed worked as a general assignment reporter with NBC29. He also anchored NBC29 HD News at Sunrise on weekend mornings.
