Man Charged With Second Degree Murder of Infant

Albemarle County Police have charged Ramon Turley, 18 of Charlottesville with second degree murder, in relation to a reported infant death on Thursday at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

On Thursday, May 26, around 7:00 in the morning, Albemarle police officers were dispatched to the University of Virginia Medical Center for a reported infant death.

On Saturday, Albemarle Police reported in a news release that Ramon Turley, 18, of Charlottesville, VA has been charged with second degree murder and is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. A bond hearing will be held on Tuesday May 31, 2011.

The infants body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for an autopsy.

Police have not released any more information about the infant, the circumstances related to the death, or the relationship between Turley and the infant.
