Child abuse was the main topic at the Faith Community Forum in Charlottesville Wednesday. Dozens gathered at the Boys & Girls Club to talk about the issue.
The focus was on educating the faith-based community about the facts of child abuse and talking about how to help children get the proper help if they are being abused at home.
Jasmine Brock with the Sexual Assault Resource Agency said, "A lot of times, in states of crisis, people turn to people in the church. They turn to their faith leader. They turn to their youth leaders, youth ministers and we're going to make sure churches have a policy in place."
The group also talked about how to identify at-risk children and providing pastoral support.
The Sexual Assault Resource Agency sponsored the forum. The forum was held as part of child abuse prevention month.
