Peace activist and Socialist Party Secretary Brandon Collins is running for Charlottesville City Council.
Collins announced his candidacy as an Independent, with an endorsement from the Socialist Party of Central Virginia. Currently, he's busy collecting signatures and plans to file official campaign paperwork later this week.
Collins says he's running for council to bring a more radical approach to local government. He supports a living wage for all Charlottesville workers, more funding for affordable housing, and expanded public transit.
