The trailer will be equipped to respond to the damage seen in Stuarts Draft and Waynesboro.
In light of the devastation, Virginia National Bank is making an $18,000 donation to the Red Cross.
The central Virginia chapter will use the money to buy a new emergency response trailer. It will be the first of its kind for the organization's fleet. The trailer will be equipped to respond to the damage seen in Stuarts Draft and Waynesboro. It will be stocked with essential supplies like cots, water, blankets and food.
Jack Jones, of the Red Cross of Central Virginia said, "the damage caused by tornados, high wind storms, knocks over trees, knocks out power and in severe cases it will destroy homes as was the case in Stuarts Draft."
The new trailer will be stationed at the red cross offices in Charlottesville. It will remain stocked so it can be deployed as soon as possible in future storms.
