Mark Fischer Resigns as Louisa HS Head Football Coach

Posted: Updated:

Louisa County High School head football coach, Mark Fischer has resigned.   He has accepted another high school football coaching job outside the state according to Louisa County HS athletics director, Lee Downey.

Fischer led Louisa to the state championship game in 2006.   This past season, Fischer's Lions had a perfect 10-0 regular season, and lost in the second round of the playoffs.

Fischer is the third Jefferson District head football coach to step down this offseason.  Brud Bicknell at Monticello and Chris Frazer at Charlottesville HS, both moved on to other coaching jobs.

Downey says Louisa County HS will begin a nationwide search for Fischer's replacement.  Downey says he'll have more details on Wednesday about Fischer's new job.
