Federal health care reform and how it will impact clinics and hospitals in Virginia took center stage in Albemarle County Tuesday morning.
Directors from free clinics across the state listened to a panel discussion about the issues central Virginia faces as health care reform hangs in limbo. It was a chance for people to begin asking questions about how the healthcare landscape will change, even if there are no concrete answers at this point.
Erika Viccellio, from the Charlottesville Free Clinic stated, "You know everyone is wondering what the impact of health care reform will be. While there are so many unknowns and things could change from how they are today the reality is we need to be planning now."
"One issue that's clearly going to be with us is having enough health care resources for the under served how can we make sure healthcare is available to all who need it," said Ed Howell, from UVA Health SystemEd.
