Police say a group of teenage girls beat up the victim.
Charlottesville Police are investigating a beating that sent a 13-year-old girl to the hospital. The beating occurred Friday night after 9 o'clock on Prospect Avenue near 9th Street Southwest.
Police say a group of teenage girls beat up the victim. She was taken to UVA Medical Center with minor injuries and has since been released. The victim is pressing charges. Police are not releasing names because everyone involved is under 18 years old.
