The incident took place at this residence in northern Augusta County.
Investigators say an Augusta County man who shot a 14-year-old boy Thursday morning is unlikely to face charges.
Deputies were called about 9:30 a.m. to the Mount Solon home of Philip and Kimberly Crilley. The juvenile, armed with a large stick, reportedly broke into their home by smashing a window, then forced his way into their bedroom.
The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says Philip Crilley shot the teen once in the leg.
"To a point it may be a home invasion," explained the sheriff's office's Lt. A.C. Powers. "But it's actually a result of problems that have been going on with the person that was shot. As a result of that, this incident happened."
The 14-year-old had reportedly made threats against Kimberly Crilley, but deputies will not comment on the nature of their relationship.
