Virginia State Police have issued an Amber Alert for a 12-year-old Roanoke County girl who was reported missing after her mother was found dead.
The alert was issued for Brittany May Smith on Monday after police found the body of her mother inside a home in Salem. Investigators say 41-year-old Tina Smith's death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
The State Police Amber Alert says Brittany Smith may be with Jeffrey Scott Easley, who was a friend of Tina Smith. He is described as 5-foot-11, 265 pounds.
