It's time to start thinking about holiday gifts, and craft vendors were helping shoppers get an early start for a good cause.

The Crafts for Critters show was held all day at the Holiday Inn on Emmett Street. Proceeds went to the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA, and it totaled $1,400 dollars.

Crafts for Critters Organizer Heather Garry said, "They are, you know, always bringing in animals. They want to help out to rescue them, find them foster homes and things like that, but they need help as well to do that for those animals so anytime that us as a community can return and help them, it's always a great chance to do that."

Garry says they accomplished their goal of beating last year's grand total of $1,300 for the animal shelter.
