UVA students address domestic violence issues through the White Ribbon Campaign.
More than a hundred people turned out to put a stop to domestic violence Wednesday night.
The White Ribbon Campaign sponsored an open discussion about the issue at the Newcomb Hall Ballroom. A group of students formed the White Ribbon Campaign last year in response to incidents on grounds and in Charlottesville.
"This is an issue that isn't just a women's issue, it's an issue that effects all of us," said Meredith Peake, president of the White Ribbon Campaign at UVA. "If we can raise awareness and making this issue better understood, we can increase dialogue and hopefully see some real changes."
Speakers at the event talked about resources available to victims of intimate partner violence.
The White Ribbons Campaign urges victims to stop the violence and demand their rights.
