History is on the 'Hoos Side vs. North Carolina at Scott Stadium

Posted: Updated:

When the UVA football team plays North Carolina Saturday night at 6:00 at Scott Stadium, history is on the 'Hoos side.

The Cavaliers have beaten the Tar Heels four straight times overall.

At Scott Stadium, the 'Hoos haven't lost to Carolina in 29 years, winning 14 straight in the series.

Most recently, then-sophomore quarterback Marc Verica led Virginia to an overtime win in 2008, keeping the amazing home streak alive.

As for this year, Verica says the 'Hoos need to a better job of getting off to a quick start in games.

UVA senior captain/starting quarterback Marc Verica said, "We just have to make sure from the first play of the game, we know what our assignment is and how to go about executing it so we can get first downs and keep our defense off the field and put points on the board. When you come out in the first quarter, and you're just going three and out and the other team's offense is on the field the whole time, it puts you in a hole."
