Now that Charlottesville allows for people to own pet goats, people are taking advantage. Saturday in Scottsville, the Charlottesville Goat Justice League hosted an urban goat keeping workshop.

Meghan Keith-Hynes of the Charlottesville Goat Justice League said, "A lot of people in the city have not kept goats before, so it's not really a tradition within the city of Charlottesville, so it's important to get a base level of knowledge and hopefully these people will go on and teach their neighbors and the knowledge will spread."

Goat owners learned how to milk and trim their goats, along with other basic caring tasks. Members of the league are quick to point out how personable the animals are. Plus, they offer milk and feast on plants you probably don't want in your backyard.
