The hits keep on coming: Bel Rio, at the center of the Belmont noise issue, is now being sued by an investor
Noise complaints have put the Bel Rio restaurant in Belmont at the center of controversy in that neighborhood. Now, Owner James Baldi has a lawsuit to deal with.
Charlottesville Circuit Court documents say Gareth Weldon is suing Baldi for $250,000 in punitive damages, and asking the court to shut down the restaurant.
Weldon invested in Bel Rio when it opened back in 2008. He is accusing Baldi of withholding the business's financial information and spending Bel Rio funds for personal benefit.
No word yet on when the case will be heard.
