Governor Tim Kaine made a special appearance at the University of Virginia Saturday. The governor spoke to law students at the 8th Annual Conference on Public Service Law.
Kaine took the opportunity to guide young lawyers to success in public service. He also encouraged students to work to resolve racial tensions in Virginia.
That advice comes just days after Congressman Virgil Goode spoke out against Muslims in the United States.
"I love the fact that we call ourselves a commonwealth because that word means we're all in this together and we have to act that way," said Governor Tim Kaine.
Kaine was accompanied by First Lady Anne Holton.
