Press Release from the office of Congressman Tom Perriello:
Perriello Announces 5th District Town Hall Meeting Series
Washington, DC—Congressman Tom Perriello is once again inviting constituents to one of his 20 town hall meetings across the Fifth District during the summer Congressional recess. The meetings will begin Wednesday, August 4 in Appomattox and conclude Monday, September 13 in Bedford. In response to constituent feedback from last summer, town halls have been scheduled at various times throughout the day to accommodate the diverse needs and schedules of constituents, such as seniors, working parents, and small business owners.
"Town hall meetings are a unique part of American democracy and I look forward to a lively and engaging discussion with folks in every locality across the district," said Rep. Perriello. "I always appreciate feedback from constituents, which is why I hold town halls and Main Street tours in addition to my one-on-one constituent meetings."
Last August, Congressman Perriello held twenty-one town hall meetings across the district. He has also held nine telephone town hall meetings during his term. In addition to these public meetings, he meets regularly with individual constituents or groups in his Washington, D.C. office or one of his four district offices. He also makes himself available through regular public appearances and events such as the 14-stop Main Street Tour he completed last week.
