The University of Virginia has apparently found a new football coach and they didn't have to go very far to find him.
The Virginia athletics department will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. where it is expected that Richmond Head Coach Mike London will be named as the new head football coach at UVA.
Multiple sources report that London met with his team Sunday in Richmond to inform them of his decision.
Mike London just finished his second season as head coach of the Richmond Spiders, a team he guided to the football championship subdivision title in 2008 in his first season at the helm. He came to Richmond after two seasons as defensive coordinator at UVA. He also coached the Cavalier defensive line from 2001 to 2004 and served as recruiting coordinator from 2002 to 2004.
He coached the defensive line of the NFL's Houston Texans in between stints at Virginia. He's been coaching since 1988 and played for the Dallas Cowboys after his playing days and college career at Richmond ended.
