NBC29North Garden Woman Killed In Crash

A fatal accident closed Route 29 south in southern Albemarle County for three and a half hours Thursday evening.
Fifty-three-year-old Kathryn Russell of North Garden was killed in the crash. Police say Russell was trying to turn onto Route 29 when she was hit by a van. It does not appear she was wearing a seatbelt.
The two people in the van were taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
There are no charges pending at this time.
