Running Back Mikell Simpson scored 4 touchdowns and Quarterback Jamell Sewell threw for 308 yards and a touchdown as the University of Virginia football team routed Indiana 47-7. Simpson left midway through the 3rd quarter with what's been described as a back injury. UVa's radio broadcast reports Simpson's injury is not believed to be serious.
The Hoosiers did not crack the scoreboard until 8:18 was left in the 4th quarter. Virginia's defense was dominant in front of the Homecoming crowd at Scott Stadium. UVa led 31-0 at halftime.
Virginia improves to 2-3 (1-1 in the ACC) while Indiana falls to 3-3 (0-2 in the Big 10). Virginia travels to Maryland next week.
