If you thought you spotted Jessica Simpson's ex-husband Nick Lachey in Charlottesville Friday, you're right.
The singer made Charlottesville one of his twelve stops on the Everybody Wins tour, stopping at UVA and the local food bank. Lachey has partnered up with Winnit.com, a unique auction web site that actually rewards the lowest bidders.
Lachey was in Charlottesville to surprise some of the web site winners at UVA, and also to raise awareness of the hunger problem, helping fill food boxes Friday at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and greeting local fans.
The singer/songwriter was also celebrating the success of his web site winnit.com, and wanted to use that success in a charitable way. Lachey says giving back is not just for celebrities. "Whether you're a secretary, a celebrity, a doctor, a dentist, ya know it doesn't matter. You come and you volunteer and do something like this. It puts everything you do and everything you go through in life into perspective."
Lachey says with the launch of Winnit.com, he will use those proceeds from the first couple of months and donate them to the organization Feeding America.
Lachey says this is the "ville" portion of his tour, stopping Friday in Charlottesville and heading to Greenville in the next couple of days, all to raise awareness of the hunger battle.
