A driver on Route 20 in Buckingham county says a squirrel is what caused him to slam into a guardrail, setting his car on fire.
The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Friday two miles north of Dillwyn on Route 20.
The car was traveling southbound when it slammed into a bridge guardrail. The car caught fire, but the driver escaped with minor injuries.
The southbound lanes were blocked while VDOT worked to repair the rail.
