A Charlottesville jazz singer who sang for herself and as back-up for acts including the Rolling Stones, Sheryl Crow and Sheena Easton has died. Dee Dee Bellson passed away Saturday.
The daughter of Pearl Bailey and drummer Louie Bellson, Dee Dee was considered music royalty by some.
One of her last performances in Charlottesville was back in April, singing for the Jazz Society. One person who watched it tells us, she blew the roof off the place.
Dee Dee Bellson was 48.
