Albemarle/Monticello: Independence Day Celebration and Naturalization Ceremony
The outdoor naturalization ceremony for new citizens is a free, public event starting at 10 a.m. on Monticello's West Lawn. Congressman Tom Perriello will be the featured speaker.
Ash Lawn-Highland: Celebrating America's Independence
Crafts, games and more at Ash Lawn Highland. Bring lunch for a picnic.
Augusta: Burgers and Bluegrass
For $30, you can celebrate July 4th with a cookout at First Colony. The fee gets you mini-bus transportation as well as live music. Starts at 10:45 a.m. For ages 55+.
Charlottesville: Fireworks
A fireworks display will be held at McIntire Park. The show will start at one minute after dark (approximately 9:15 p.m. or later) and last about 25 minutes.
Charlottesville: Independence Day Celebration and Tea Party
The Jefferson Area Tea Party will be at Jackson Park in Charlottesville for a rally at 1 p.m. celebrating freedom and discussing how to maintain freedoms. The event also features speakers and performers.
Crozet: July 4th Celebration at Vineyard
Celebrate the Fourth with a wine tasting, grilled hot dogs and more at the King Family Vineyards. Also features live bluegrass.
Culpeper: 4th of July Celebration
Catch sporting events, patriotic speeches, an antique car show, a parade, and more in and around downtown Culpeper.
Harrisonburg: Valley 4th
A reading of the Declaration of Independence, a parade and performances culminate in a fireworks display in downtown Harrisonburg. Events go on throughout the day.
Lovingston: Children's Bike Parade/4th of July Parade
The Children's Bike Parade in Lovingston begins at 10 a.m. The Foruth of July Parade begins at 11 a.m. along Front Street.
Orange: Sixth Annual Independence Day Festival
Families can enjoy patriotic music, games, food and fireworks at Booster Park behind the Orange Airport on Route 29. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.
Scottsville: Fourth of July Celebration/Rhythm on the River
The town kicks off July 4th at 10 a.m. with a parade before fireworks that evening and live music.
Stanardsville: Fourth of July Parade
The annual parade starts at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Stanardsville. Then, enjoy a reading of the Declaration of Independence, patriotic songs, a barbeque fundraiser and more.
Staunton: America's Birthday Celebration
The annual "America's birthday celebration" takes place Friday and Saturday at Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton. Highlights include a parade, arts and crafts vendors, and fun food from funnel cakes to chili dogs. Live performances include cloggers, a youth talent show, and headliner band "Ricochet." The fireworks kick off at 10:00 p.m. Saturday.
Wintergreen: July Jubilee
Wintergreen Resort hosts a slew of fun-filled activities including music, a family triathalon, a movie and fireworks.
