Seven people, including at least five University of Virginia students, are living out of hotel rooms after a morning fire forced them from their home.
The fire started in the furnace of a house on University Circle in Charlottesville. One tenant smelled smoke and called 9-1-1. Everyone was able to get out as the smoke spread quickly throughout the house.
Firefighters are estimating at least $50,000 in damage. The exact cause is still being investigated.
