Habitat for Humanity and Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary are teaming up to help find a solution to Charlottesville's affordable housing problem. It is all part of "Operation Home Run."
The rotary club is dishing out $100,000 to build homes for two families in need of a little financial help. Family members are grateful for the project. Many of the children are excited to get their own rooms.
"They could be our children," said Bob Kahn, with the Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary. "So it's very gratifying that Rotary and our partners have this opportunity to build a home for these folks."
Volunteers will begin construction next week. The goal is to welcome both families into their new homes by Thanksgiving.
