Charlottesville's Habitat for Humanity chapter is getting you to go green. Its part of the "Green Matters" workshop series which started Wednesday night.
The local Habitat Store is kicking off a two year series of workshops that will help educate people about environmentally friendly building.
A key mission of The Habitat Store is to be good to the environment. That includes saving more than 500 tons of materials from going to the area's landfill over the last year by selling them in the store.
Ryan Jacoby of The Habitat Store stated, “We really wanted to take residential design and green building concepts and practices and make them more accessible to the community at large.”
Wednesday’s workshop was held at 6:00 p.m. at The Habitat Store on Harris Street. Other workshops will be held every month or so for the next two years.
