One last shot for the Virginia men's basketball team to keep their season alive. Thursday night, in the first round of the ACC Tournament the 'Hoos took on the Golden Eagles of Boston College. Virginia looked to end the season strong and get a little payback for a loss to BC last month.
It wasn't a pretty game Thursday night. In the first half, Sylven Landesberg turned it over. Golden Eagles went the other way. The first layup try was no good but Rakim Sanders scored on the follow, getting 2 of his 19 points.
Boston College led by 12 points at half.
Mamadi Diane played well for the second straight game. He had a season high 24 points. One three-pointer trimmed the deficit to 11 points.
But Boston College never faded. The up-ahead pass to Joe Trapani results in Boston College's largest lead at 15 points. The Cavaliers never really threatened.
Boston College won 76-63. Cavaliers finish the season with a record of 10-18.
