An elderly woman is dead after police say she lost control of her minivan south of Staunton. It happened about 9:45 Monday morning.
State police say 82-year-old Francis Hildebrand of Lexington headed north on Route 11 in the Folly Mills area, lost control of her Dodge Caravan, ran off the right side of the road, and the van flipped.
She died at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the crash.
