Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson stopped in Charlottesville Friday to stump for fellow Democrat Barack Obama. Richardson, who sought the Democratic nomination for president, talked about Obama's qualifications for the job.
Richardson says regardless of who gets elected the next president will have a lot on his plate. Issue number one, he says, will be the economy.
"How do we get out of this economic mess we're in where the middle class is hurting, we're losing jobs, people losing their homes. How can we stimulate the economy? So those are the big challenges," stated Richardson (D).
Richardson says there are also important foreign challenges ahead for the next commander-in-chief, including withdrawing troops from Iraq.
