JARRATT, Va. (AP) - A Virginia man who beat and stabbed to death his 79-year-old neighbor has been put to death. Kent Jermaine Jackson was pronounced dead at 9:18 p.m. Thursday at the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt. It took about 15 minutes for him to die.

Jackson was sentenced to death for the 2000 death of Beulah Mae Kaiser, who was beaten, stabbed and sexually assaulted. Her cane was crammed into her mouth with such force that it knocked out most of her teeth and broke her jaw.

Jackson's last words were as follows: "You all can't kill me. I'm the king. Remember me like you remember Jesus. I'll be back."

Jackson and another 26-year-old inmate were the youngest of the 17 on Virginia's death row.
