Albemarle County fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire to break out in a garage Wednesday afternoon. At least 10 units responded to the call that came in around 3:30 p.m.
Fire officials say the fire started in the garage of a home on Jefferson Mill Road then quickly spread, destroying at least eight vehicles nearby. It did not spread to the home itself.
Two elderly people were home at the time of the fire. They were not injured.
Firefighters took about an hour to get everything under control.
