  • Position:  Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter
  • Year Hired: 2006
  • First TV Appearance: I was one of those guys who was always screaming at camera guys to put me on as a fan at high school games.  I made it on a few times.  Still have copies of those newscasts on VHS!
  • Favorite Story: Tie.  Chris Henshaw, the Louisa football player who played with only one foot, and Jon Fried, a special olympics tennis player who lives in the area.  They were both great people to work with and had great stories to tell.
  • Memorable Interview: I interviewed Tommy Lasorda when I was a freshman in college and he kept calling me Scott.  Even a few hours later I saw him and went up and thanked him for doing the interview and he said, "sure thing, Scott."
  • Dream Interview: Kenny Mayne or Tom Rinaldi from ESPN.  They are both people in this business whom I look up to.
  • Dream Job: Easily, PGA Tour Professional
  • Most rewarding part of your job: Finding and telling a story that elicits emotions from those who view it.
  • Favorite TV show: Besides viewing Sportscenter five or six times, I'm a ringer for VH1 reality TV.  And Breaking Bad on AMC.
  • First Story: It was on a local boxer, George Rivera who trains in Staunton and was making his pro boxing debut.
  • Role Model:  My parents.  They are amazing people.
  • Why I'm A Journalist:  When I was little, my parents would often tell me I had to go five minutes without speaking, so that they could have some peace.  Simply put, I like to talk and I have always enjoyed sports.
  • Hidden Talent:  Impersonations.
  • Alma Mater: SUNY Brockport
  • Hometown: Batavia, NY
  • Hobbies: Cracking jokes, working out, brewing pots of coffee, reading, and american history and playing golf.
  • Favorite Food: If it's made with Chicken, I'll eat it.  Except for Chicken Wings.
  • Favorite Sports Team:  Detroit Tigers
  • Favorite Musician: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
  • Favorite Song:  Learning to Fly, by Tom Petty.  Also, Africa - by Toto.
  • Favorite Author: I will read anything.  James Patterson, David Baldacci, and when it comes to a good lawyer novel, nobody does it better than John Grisham.
  • Favorite Vacation Spot: What did Dorothy say in The Wizard of Oz..."There's no place like home."  We get to go to a lot of different places in sports broadcasting, so when I get time off I am always happy to go home and see my family.
