Rock music has taken over the airwaves at the University of Virginia's radio station. All this week WTJU is holding its community fundraiser to make sure it can continue to play tunes.
This year's theme is rock. Styles include garage rock and even a little soul. Central Virginia bands are also set to perform live on-air every night.
Volunteer DJ's have the flexibility to choose whatever they want to play.
WTJU rock programming director Colin Powell said, "We're taking a spectrum of rock you know. Everything from what I'm doing, which is soul music to hard rock, to electronic music, sort of whatever the DJ likes and wants to play we're letting them go for it."
The station would like to raise $30,000 this week. Click here for a complete list of shows and musical guests.
