Former Virginia governor and Senator George Allen headlined the Americans for Prosperity Town Hall Tour Wednesday. The tour is calling for the repeal of the federal healthcare law. The packed event was held at the Clifton Garden Inn on Pantops.
Allen said, "I think things like health savings accounts, which are personal, they're portable, they're more affordable--those are the approaches to take. Have more competition, more insurance companies more insurance companies competing for a customer's work and also medical liability reform can be done at the state level."
During the meeting it was announced the U.S. House voted to repeal the health care law. Allen says he is on board with that move.
Wednesday night the focus was on repealing health care reform but Allen's nationwide tour is sparking speculation that he'll soon announce a run to take back his former senate seat in 2012.
