Some volunteers braved the chilly winds Tuesday to help clean up a Scottsville park.
Albemarle County employees and the Charlottesville/Albemarle Tree Stewards spent the morning in Dorrier Park trying to educate people about proper pruning and mulching techniques.
This is part of an effort to preserve the health of trees and the tree canopy.
"This really helps the county and volunteers and some of the work that we may not be able to fund," said Albemarle County Grounds Superintendent Dan Fowley. "It kind of helps pull all that together and through a volunteer effort we get a lot better connection with the community."
The tree stewards do a number of community projects in the area including the Ivy Creek Area and a trail near the University of Virginia.
