In a special election Tuesday in the Shenandoah Valley voters chose Republican Tony Wilt for the 26th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates.
Wilt received almost 66 percent of the vote. Democrat Kai Degner got just under 30 percent, and Independent Carolyn Frank got close to 4 percent.
The 26th District includes Harrisonburg and part of Rockingham County.
Wilt will now finish the term of Delegate Matt Lohr, who resigned to serve as Virginia's agricultural commissioner.
