A nationwide veteran's bus tour rolled through Charlottesville Saturday.
The Veterans for American Power chose Charlottesville as their first stop on a two-month tour through 16 states. The tour hopes to raise awareness about the connection between climate change and national security.
Veteran Chuck Tyler believes America's dependence on foreign oil is making the country vulnerable. "Clean energy means a more secure America, and we truly have seen that in our experiences."
The veterans continued their tour of Virginia by traveling to Lynchburg.
They plan to hold more than 60 events across the nation.
