A Churchville attorney has fired another salvo in his ongoing court battle with Augusta County.
Francis Chester filed suit in April over the 2009 real estate appraisals, which he called unfair and flawed. Last month the county attorney labeled the suit frivolous, and asked a judge to levy sanctions against Chester.
Tuesday Chester filed his response, claiming the county was using draconian measures to keep thousands of taxpayers from being heard in court.
A judge should rule on the motion in a few weeks.
