Charlottesville Free Clinic Grand Opening

Posted: Updated:

The Charlottesville Free Clinic is celebrating the opening of its newly renovated and expanded facility.

For 17 years, the free clinic has provided healthcare for the working uninsured, providing care for about 10,000 people in the community.

After a $400,000 cash infusion, they've expanded every service they offer including the pharmacy and medical suites. They also have a full-time dental clinic. The new and improved facility is opening when more people than ever need the clinic's services.

Executive Director Erika Viccellio said, “Just as you can imagine with the economy more people need our services because they are losing their jobs and insurance or are losing hours. We want to be a viable health resource for people going forward.”

Congressman Tom Periello was the special guest speaker at the grand opening.

The staff is excited about the new space and looking forward to treating new patients.
